CALUM LEE BOGGS

PHOTOGRAPHER I FILMMAKER I ARTIST

ABOUT ME:

I’m a independent filmmaker and portrait photographer from Northern Ireland. I made my first short film at the beginning of 2024 titled, “Who We Are Tomorrow”. I like to explore culture and lifestyle from my home country, from the past to present to understand this world more and more. I got into filmmaking after studying art and learning that my voice is its strongest through the visual media of film and photography.

My portrait photography ranges from black and white still imagery, to artistic lighting to explore the range of emotions through portraits. I prefer to shoot people rather than landscapes and objects, because I find a deeper connection from a person staring back at me from the screen than anything else. There’s a story to each image, we just don’t know what.

Through my work, I explore the raw emotions and intricate stories that make up the human experience, capturing moments that speak beyond words. Whether through the lens of my camera in portrait photography or the frames of my short films, I aim to convey depth, authenticity, and a unique perspective on the world around me.

In the midst of the troubles in Northern Ireland, Thomas and Marie reunite one last time to confess and confront one another before separating forever.

PORTRAITS

Portrait photography allows me the opportunity to search for authenticity. A portrayal of genuine emotions and characteristics rather than staged poses. I think building a connection between photographer and subject is crucial. Every portrait should tell a story.

I want my short films to say something to the world. I want my films to be rooted in the community I come from. This is what I know.
